Snow White

"Snow White" at backyard

Pictures from our new home in Lindenhurst, about 1 hour drive from downtown Chicago.
This is the direct view from our backyard. You can see the frozen lake at the background.

Back patio toward the lake

Stairs from the patio

Lake view from the kitchen sink where I wash dishes everyday.
( The lake appears white right now at background behind the evergreen)

Shooting through the screen window

Wet snow formed on tree branches looked very interesting.

The front door

I finally went outside and shoot from the side of the house.

Close up on beautiful soft fluffy snow clinging on branches

There's the lake!!!

Icy Lake

Icy Lake

Late Fall pictures of the lake at backyard

It is a natural lake with water from underground, great for boating.
Oh, yes... PC plans to buy a motorized boat next summer.

It's called "Crooked Lake" because it's crooked...I guess.

We got snow from the previous day, still on the beach.

It's getting colder as you can see ice pieces floating on the lake.

Close up on ice pieces on the lake.

Even rocks were floating over thin sheath of frozen surface.

I hope I could come ice skating on the lake when it's solidly frozen.

View of our house from the beach area.

It's a 2-story home, but from the back it feels like a 3-story because of the walk-out basement.

Snow on the ground

From this view you can see how close the lake is to the house.

And this is the view I see everyday from window of my basement office.

Happy Boobie

Happy Boobie

Introducing our the only pet, Boobie.
She is a 10+ year-old turtle.

FYI- this is not the way you normally see a turtle.
It has to be very relax with you and happy to maintain this stretching position
in your presence. I find this extremely cute
and it brought me smiles every time I see it : )

She is very happy doing sun-bathing under an artificial UV light.
( Turtles need UV to help produce and maintain calcium)

Look at these little webbed feet : )

It makes me happy to see Boobie happy : )

Little cutie tail

For some reason, she prefers to angle herself on a rock for sunbathing,
and normally nap in that position. I will post her napping pictures at a later time.

What can I say? She is my baby : )
